James shoved his hands in his pockets as he walked around the streets of London...Muggle London as he and the other witches and wizards called it. Here they could mingle with muggles, if they so chose to. He actually liked being here. It wasn't as cool as Hogsmeade, and he hated being here by himself, without his friends, but his parents had requested he come home and visit, so here he was. Now, he was bored without his mates.
His mind drifted off to thoughts of Hogwarts. He missed it there already, and he hadn't even been gone for more than a day yet. He missed Sirius and Remus the most. They were what made Hogwarts tolerable for him. Sirius was always there for him to talk to, as was Remus. The three of them were inseperable, and James usually missed them more than he let on when he wasn't around.
There was also Lily Evans, but he had pretty much given up on her for the moment. The girl of his dreams, the one he had been chasing since almost his first year at Hogwarts. He had tried to change, to please her, make her notice him. He had become head boy this year, and she Head Girl, but that didn't seem to make a difference to her. She was still as cold to him as the day they meant. Sometimes, he didn't blame her though. He had pranked her in years past, and he figured she just hadn't forgiven him for it.
He sighed to himself and then headed into one of the shops, deciding to look around. He didn't really need to buy anything, and he probably wouldn't. He usually just liked to look around, and see what the muggles had to offer. He walked around the shop aimlessly, just looking at the things, and thinking about different things.

Bellatrix, with her long black coat shrouding her pale figure quite eerily, was strolling down the streets of London, her heels clacking against the cobblestone daintily. She glared at any man that looked at her, her red-stained lips curving into snarls every time one of them made eye contact with her. She didn't want them. She didn't want any of them. All she wanted was her Dark Lord. Or Rodolphus. But, right now, she hated everyone. Eying a rather attractive man not too far away, she moved towards him, dragging him by the arm into a darkened alleyway. She touched his lips and moved her fingers down his chest before she pulled out her wand and pointed it at him. She wanted to make him suffer for looking at her in such a way. "Disgusting muggle," she whispered coldly, slashing her wand violently in the air. His skin erupted with many wounds, blood pouring from them like waterfalls. She smiled cruelly and then daintily twirled her wand in the air once more. Green light erupted into the oxygen all around them and he fell to the ground, motionless. Crimson liquid continued to pour from his wounds, but his eyes stared blankly at her feet. She reveled in the blood that dripped onto her from his body, but she quickly cleaned herself up, not really wanting to attract attention.
Moving out of the alleyway, she nonchalantly walked into a store that was nearby, her conscience dead and gone. She thought she'd never really gotten one when she was born. Or, it was simply because of her incessant cruelty that she had finally killed all the good that ever sprouted inside of her. Her insides were like weeds, encroaching upon her soul like venomous branches of thorns. But, that didn't bother her. She didn't even feel it. She felt nothing. The definition of a Psychopath. Grinning at the thought, she moved through the aisles, gazing at the little trinkets inside of the store. Although she didn't like to admit it, small glass figurines that Muggles made were her favorite treasures to buy. Picking one up, she examined the little dancer, unsure of why it was positioned in such an odd way. Her skirt was poofy and wide, and her hair was pulled up into a bun. Shrugging, Bellatrix slipped it into her pocket and then continued on her way, having no intention to pay for her goods.
When she turned the corner, she stopped, smelling an odd scent of animalistic nature. Blinking rapidly, she thought for a moment that it might be Sirius, but upon moving forward, she felt her body relax, if only slightly. "James Potter," she hissed viciously, her silver eyes boring into the back of his head. She would recognize that unkempt hair anywhere. She didn't think he should have been wandering about alone like he was, especially when she was still on the loose. "What's a little boy like you doing out here in a place like this, unprotected by your fellow blood-traitor." Her smile turned wicked and devilish at the thought of Sirius, her silver pools flashing dangerously. She hated him for what he caused her family. Oh no, he was no longer a part of it. But, he had been. And, she hated him for it.

James continued to look at stuff in the shops, going from one to the other. He really didnt have anything else to do with his life right now. He hated being back in London, especially without Sirius being there. Home wasnt home without Sirius there now. He glanced around, not really seeing anyone he knew, from school, or from living around here. He sometimes missed being back, but his parents were quiet boring. They were older, and there were no kids around here his own age. He couldn't find anyone to hang out with, to go around with. So here he was, by himself...yet again.
He growled under his breath, cursing his parents for telling him to come back for a little bit. He moved yet again to another shop, bumping into some people as he tried to move through the alleyway. God he hated people sometimes. He also hated being crowded. This was even worse than being at Hogwarts and trying to get through the halls. He sighed to himself as he finally got through and got into the store. He began looking around, and once again, didn't find anything too interesting.
He had walked out of the store, and was almost to another when he heard an all to familiar voice behind him. Great, where was Sirius when you needed him. He turned around and glared at the person in front of him. He tried to bite his tounge but he just couldn't help it, he hated Bellatrix with a passion. He said, "Dont you have anything better to do than to call my best friend and I blood traitors..."

Bellatrix laughed cruelly at his words. She found them quite amusing, actually. How could he not realize that she lived for the torment of others? It was pretty much her favorite thing to do besides torturing people with her spells. Her silver eyes glittered with the presumption that she might be able to have some fun with this annoying Gryffindor and she giggled at the thought his blood upon her fingertips. She could practically taste it, but she knew his wouldn't be as delectable as a mud-blood's, yet blood traitors had quite tasty crimson liquid. She liked killing the blood traitors the most. Andromeda's screams flashed through her mind and her face contorted into pleasure. She wondered where her little sister was now, hiding like a coward with her mud-blood of a husband. Such treachery in the Ancient and Most Noble House of Black was disgusting.
Her smile turned like a snake's, her red-painted lips dark with evil. "You seem surprised, Potter." She made a hurt expression, much like the one Sirius made a lot and then chuckled darkly. Noticing that the shop owner was gazing at them in a worried tone, she through him a beautiful smile, her devastating grin almost too much for the poor man. He grimaced back at her as she said in a voice of rippling velvet, underneath of which was a lace of venom, "No worries, my good man. We're just old acquaintances." She turned back to James as the shop owner scuttled off, a little worried, and felt her smirk grow wider.
"Is that any way to treat your elders, Potter?" she hissed venomously, her silver eyes burning like flames. Her tone was threatening, and she moved her pale right hand to her pocket where her wand lay. She would not be trifled with, not on a day like this.

James scowled again, wondering why everything always had to happen to him. It was bad enough he was stuck here without any of his friends, but now he had to deal with this monster. James knew, just like everyone else, that Bellatrix was a Death Eater, which meant she followed Voldemort. He had to watch what he said and did around her. He also knew that she would kill people without so much and blinking. That thought actually scared him a little. How could someone just kill someone? Not even care, just cold blooded murder someone? He shook his head, deciding to just try and stay calm for the time being.
He looked at her expression, and had to stop himself from laughing when he realized that it looked like the look Sirius gives him all the time. He shurgged slightly and said, "I am surprised, but then again, I am always surprised when I run into people around Muggle London...I never expect to actually see anyone here..." Once again, he tried to bite his tounge, and this time he actually managed to do it. He saw the poor bloke staring at them through the shop window, and quickly threw him a small smile, trying to tell him everything was alright. He knew if the guy kept staring, or came out here, Bellatrix would probably kill him.
He heard her voice and sighed softly and said, "My apologies Bellatrix...." His eye caught her hand going to her wand and he cringed inwardly and said, "How have you been?" What else was he supposed to say? He really didn't want to be here, but he couldn't just walk away. He shook his head and decided he might as well deal with it.

Bellatrix grinned at his scowl, the insanity in her mind turning over and over again. She was eager for more blood, that kill she had just acted upon wasn't enough for today. She needed more pain, more agony. And Potter was just the thing to quench her thirst. And, the poor fellow was alone, without his friends nearby. She was not stupid. She knew that if her cousin and that Lupin were around, James would not have left their sight. They were like annoying friends, never getting away from each other. Bellatrix found it irritating. She knew she could have taken them all. Three against one, but she liked to play with one fly at a time. She was like a Spider, trapping her prey in her web in any way she could think of. And James was falling deeper into it. Reading the look in his eyes, she whispered, "You disapprove of me, James. I'm hurt. What have I done to you?" She was waiting for a list of everything she'd done to him. She knew it would be a lot. But, no part of her cared in the slightest. She wanted to see what he would remember. The calmness that resonated over his entire expression annoyed her and she hissed in a velvet whisper, "Come on, Potter. Feel the anger. Don't give into that façade of calmness. I can see past everything you set before me." A smirk flickered onto her rather thin lips, curving the right side of her mouth in an extremely eerie fashion. Her silver pools glistened with anticipation.
She nodded at his words, narrowing her silver eyes into slits at the slight amusement on his face. How dare he mock her! Her anger flared for a moment, tinging her eyes with red before it quickly faded into that smug expression she wore, full of discontent. "Being here is the best place to remain hidden, if you catch my drift. Hardly any of those filth know we exist. But, that's exactly what I'm going to show them." More like her Dark Lord was going to show them all what it meant to defy the most powerful and dangerous race of the entire world. The wizarding race would not be ignored for much longer, not after her Master gained enough power to cause fear inside all of the Muggles that were oblivious. They would learn. They would all learn. And that day to teach them was growing closer and closer. She leaned closer to James, staring into his brown eyes with her devastating grey ones. "You should expect everything, Potter, otherwise something might come up behind you and bite you in the ass without you even knowing." Her left eye twitched and she giggled maddeningly. Bellatrix followed his eyes and found the shop owner. She was growing irritated with that man. If he didn't get the hell out of her business she was going to torture him until he went insane. Her eyes glinted with joy at the thought of his writhing body, her smile twisting as she pondered such things.
When his eyes followed the movement of her hand, she smiled in appreciation. So, he wasn't as dumb as he looked. Good. He would need his cleverness around her. "You should be, Potter. The next time such biting words you speak are aimed at me, you'll be sorry. Why can't we just have a pleasant conversation? Is that so hard?" She smiled cruelly, the dementia showing through her devilish expression. Giggling wildly at his question, she walked around him once and then moved towards a wall that was out of view of the shop owner's window. With a beautiful grin, she muttered, "Quite spectacular if I do say so myself, Potter. How about you?" Her tone was less than pleasant, for the bitter cold lingered upon her tongue like vinegar as if waiting to lash out at the younger boy that was on the opposite team she was. Leaning her head back slightly, she made it appear as though she had her eyes closed and she moved one foot up against the wall, her porcelain leg showing through. It glowed in the sunlight like a ghost's transparency. She waited for him to take her bait, to continue this conversation as she led him farther and farther into the trap she had laid out for him in her brain. She was clever, Bellatrix knew, but most thought her to be predictable. We'll see about that.

James sighed softly to himself as he heard the next thing Bellatrix said to him. There were so many sharp things that sprang to his mind, but he quickly pushed the urge to say those things away. He didn't need to make her mad. If he made her mad, then all hell was going to break loose. Now, maybe if Sirius had been here, or Sirius and Remus, he would have been more tempted to try and push her buttons a little bit. This time though, he didn't have any back up, and he really did not want to do anything stupid. He sighed and said, "Nothing...I guess old habits are just hard to kick.." She had done alot of stuff to him because of his friendship with Sirius. She especially hated him because he stood up for Sirius. He also hated her for the fact that she wouldn't leave Sirius alone. He laughed softly and said, "I wouldn't give you the pleasure Bellatrix...you know me, I don't usually get mad about too many things..." He wondered how she would take that comment. She should know after all the shit she put him through, that he didn't get pissed unless she was attacking Sirius.
His dark eyes met her and he saw that all to familiar dangerous flash in them. Then in the next instant, it was gone. That surprised James even more. Had Bellatrix finally gotten ahold of her temper? He shrugged, deciding that right now was probably not a good time to be worrying about it. He looked at her, a angry frown marring his handsome features. What the hell was she talking about? She couldn't just kill people like this. They hadn't done anything to her. Then again, she didn't seem to ever need a reason to hurt anyone, or kill them either. He said, "You can't just kill them Bellatrix...they are innocent people..." He knew that she probably wouldn't even listen to him. She was just like that. He had had many dealings with her, and once again found himself wishing he wasnt here right now. He heard her again and found himself starring, unblinkingly, into her grey eyes. He heard her voice and nodded slowly before forcing himself to stay calm and saying, "Thank you for the advice Bellatrix...I will surely have to keep it in mind.." He sighed to himself, secretly wishing that the shop owner would go away so that nothing would happen to him.
James glared at her, wishing she wouldn't talk to him like he was someone that was below her. He wasnt. They were both purebloods, although James usually didn't act like a pureblood, nor did he care if he was one or if he associated with muggleborns. On the other hand, Narcissa hated anyone but purebloods, and even hated some purebloods. He herad her voice and nodded, not trusting himself to say anything. He finally sighed and said, "Understood...and I don't know why we can't have a pleasant conversation...perhaps you could englishten me..." He smirked softly and then just let a small smile play on his lips as he said, "I've been alright I guess...can't complain..." He looked at her again and said, "I'm glad that your doing well...." What else was he supposed to say? He really didn't want to say anything that would cause a problem.

Bellatrix knew she was egging him on, but she wanted a conflict. Her fingers twitched with anticipation as she waited for a chance to prod him while he was particularly perturbed. But, he was keeping his control. What ever happened to the famed Potter temper? Besides, she wanted to play. He was boring her very much so, but she knew that was what he was trying to do. She, however, was going to keep playing his little game, stabbing at him in inconspicuous ways until he finally blew his lid. Then, she would have her fun. "Clearly, you're not as brave without your little buddies around, blood traitor." She smirked cruelly, twirling her ebony wand lithely in her porcelain fingers. She narrowed and then rolled her eyes at his reply, clenching her jaw as she racked her brain for something to say that could get him riled up. Damn it, she wanted a fight! She raised an eyebrow. "Oh, really, Potter? I've heard quite the opposite about you. Most think you have a pretty horrid temper. Maybe I'm confusing you with that mud-blood you have that feeling you call love for." Her voice had turned disgusted as she spoke of Lily. Such a waste of talent on his part. She smirked, knowing that she would just have to try harder.
She tilted her head to the side at James' sudden confused look. It made her grin wide, considering the fact that she could tell that she had him fooled for the moment. If she wanted to catch him off guard, she was going to have to continue along this path. When she saw anger flicker onto his brow line, her silver eyes flashed vibrantly. So, killing innocent people pissed him off. Perfect. Her eyes darted around nonchalantly through the speckles of people, but she kept her main attention on him so as not to throw him off. She was going to make sure he didn't know what she was up to. And, nothing on her expression would betray her, for all it hinted at was insanity. Then, she found a man come out of the back alley behind them. Pouncing like a cat, she moved quickly, dazzling the stranger with her eerie beauty. He seemed confused, as if he didn't know whether to run or smile. She grabbed him around his shirt collar and then threw him into the alley, not seeing if James would follow. She knew he would. All the damn Gryffindors had the sick sense of trying to save someone. It was naturally in their blood and highly irritating. Well, save this one, she thought while she grinned. When she pointed her wand at the man who now lay sprawled on the ground in a pile of perplexity, she said, quite loud enough for James to hear, "No one's innocent." Then, she thought Crucio! A flash of light erupted from her wand, hitting the muggle with precision. His writhing made her laugh and she couldn't help but throw more of the power into the curse, desperately waiting for a scream. She hadn't remembered a muggle lasting this long without a cry of agony.
At James' glare, Bellatrix threw one back, hers full of malicious hatred. She snarled quite viciously, the growl that rose in her throat ripping into the air with quite a feral sense. She saw that he was attempting to portray to her that they were on the same plane. She simply laughed crazily, the sound echoing all around her. A few people turned with raised brows, but they knew to continue on their way. "You are a blood traitor, Potter. Surely you realize that? You and your filthy parents are nothing but a waste to the pure-blood community. Such a pathetic excuse of a family you have. And the audacity of taking that filth in! Well, you can imagine that any other respectable family would have denied him entry!" She grinned, clearly speaking of Sirius. She hated that boy with a passion. She knew that one day, she was going to kill him, reveling in every second of his last dying breath. She ignored his comments, eager to make him angry. She wanted to cause a disturbance in his very chest, wanted to see him lunge at her with fury. It would make her day quite immensely.

James smirked, knowing that Bellatrix must be at least a little confused by his sudden lack of temper. Before she had left school, James had always been the hot head. Now that he had been chasing Lily though, he had learned to control his temper better than he had before. It had come in handy a few times already. Now the hot head of the group was Sirius, but he was usually pretty easy to bring down out of the temper stage. When James heard her voice, his eyes narrowed slightly. How dare she call him that! He was a pureblood, just as she was. Just because he hung out with Sirius and some of the muggle borns at school didn't give her the right to call him that. He kept his mouth shut, although it was hard. He was not known for biting his tounge, but he knew he had to watch it. He was about to say something when Bellatrix spoke again. He glared at her, his temper getting the better of him for a second and then he said, "Yah, she can be a hot head...I've learned to control my temper...for the most part." He looked at her again and then added, "And what would you know about love Bellatrix?" He hadn't meant to snap, but nobody talked about Lily that way. Even though they were still fighting, James felt protective of her.
James looked away for a moment, keeping his senses on high alert though. He wouldn't admit it to Bellatrix, but she had struck a nerve about his friends too. He despertely wished they were here right now, to help him out if something happened. He finally turned back to her in time to see her going somewhere with a person who looked like just a regular muggle. Once again, he frowned, wondering what the hell she was doing. He had never quiet understood her, even when they had been in school together. He had always made it a point to not associate with her anyway, which hadn't been hard in school since she had been in Slytherin. The few odd times he had run into her, Sirius and Remus had been there with him, and nothing had really happened except an exchanging of words. The next thing he knew he heard Bellatrix saying something and looked to see a man in pain on the ground. James looked from the guy to Bellatrix and cursed under his breath. It had only taken him a second to figure out what had happened. There was now a fire in his eyes, one that hadn't been there before. He hated seeing innocent people get hurt, especially at his expense. He drew his wand and pointed it at her and said, "Enough Bellatrix...let him go...now...." He hoped that this wouldn't turn into a full blown fight, but he was too pissed at this moment to even care. As he stood there, the fire slowly started to die down, but he was still angry about what she had done.
James kept his wand trained on her as she glared back at him and spoke of his family. Ok, now that was another thing that pissed James off. He loved his parents dearly, and would do anything to protect his family, and his family name. He shook his head, the fire in his eyes coming back. He glared at her and said, "At least my parents actually cared about me...which is more than I can say for any of you Blacks..." As she mentioned Sirius, the fire in his eyes burned brighter and he said, "You leave him out of this! At least he was smart enough to get out while he still could...and he has a much better life now because of it..." The last part came out as a mixture between a snarl and a cold tone, which was a sure sign that James was pissed.

Bellatrix didn't like the even-tempered people. She saw them as an extreme bore that she was unable to crack. But, then again, she could do anything. Impossible was not in her vocabulary unless she was speaking of someone else. She could kill someone in a second, without looking back. It may be more of a challenge, but she was going to get this boy to crack. She smirked beautifully when his eyes narrowed. Obviously, she was on the right track. Petty insults may not bother him very much, but she knew she'd get to that last nerve eventually. She never gave up. Moving from her place on the wall, she allowed her steps to make soft clacking noises against the cobblestone streets as she glided around James. It was as if he were prey, caught in the web of her eternal darkness, the wicked victory gleaming through the strands of the sticky substance. As she circled him, she made sure to keep her gaze violent while her voice remained sickly sweet. She was a ticking time bomb, inexplicably unpredictable in every move that she made. With a hiss, she murmured, "You have no right considering yourself to be of the purest blood, Potter. You have a heart full of compassion for those disgusting mud-bloods, befriending the traitors and half-breeds alike. You have tainted the perfection that my blood is." Her breath hit his ear, a cold air flowing forth from her full lips. Her silver eyes glinted maddeningly as her left eye twitched quite uncontrollably. She placed a lanky porcelain hand upon his shoulder, running up and over his chest as she whispered, "Yes, that's it, Potter. Give into the madness. You know as well as I do that you can never truly get through that inexplicable anger. It resides in you, stifled, yet when it is prodded, your soul shifts into a Dragon." That hiss of a voice blew into his ear again, like a tempting serpent trying to lure an unsuspecting animal into a trap. But, she wasn't going to give James Potter the pleasure of her thinking he was a fool. She knew better. He was intelligent, but there was a softness about him that Bellatrix despised. She hated gentleness in men. It meant weakness to her. Rodolphus was cold-hearted and cruel and that's just what she loved about him. He had moments where he caressed her cheeks and her lips, but they were rare and few. Her nails dug into his flesh at the mention of love. Her intellectual brain knew that it was simply an obsessive affection for another creature, but she knew naught of it. Glaring at the side of his face, she hissed violently, "You should learn to watch your tongue, Potter. You might lose the right to use it if you don't. Besides, love is nothing but an emotion people use to blame their unrealistic obsession they relate with someone else." She giggled crazily, the sound insane in its cheerfulness. Then, she suddenly stopped, those silver eyes twinkling like diamonds. She had been taking a jab at his craze over Lily, having known of his obsession. To her, it was unhealthy but what the hell did she know about being healthy?
Knowing that James would be vigilant now, Bellatrix smirked, flickering back towards the wall. She acted nonchalant, realizing that he was no match for her. He was too gentle with his movements. If he had claimed to lose his temper, then there was no hope for him to beat her. But, if she could get it out of him, then maybe there would be a little enjoyment for her in this day. She knew she had gotten to him with her comment about his companions. She had watched him constantly when she had been at Hogwarts and knew that he was very loyal to his friends. It was almost sickening, but she was the same with Voldemort. Never would she betray him. When she felt James' presence behind her as the man writhing on the ground refused to scream, Bellatrix simply cackled wildly, her long black hair suddenly billowing around her face in an odd burst of wind. She looked up towards the sky for a moment, letting the man rest and sniffed the air. A storm was coming. How perfect. Fluttering her lashes, she turned to face James, her silver eyes glistening as the first raindrop fell upon the top of her head. It came down in a sudden torrent and she smiled horridly, the wickedness trembling off of her lips like venom. She saw the fury in his eyes and that heightened her excitement even more. In the blink of an eye, she disapparated and landed right behind him, whispering amidst the thundering boom, "What are you going to do about it, Potter? Kill me?" She smiled devastatingly and then apparated back to her spot in front of the man. Her hair was no drenched and she stood there with a great evil bursting through her body. Her figure shook with anticipation and her eyes glowed with an arrogance that would never be stifled. The strands of her midnight hair stuck to her porcelain face, hiding parts of her moonstruck eyes. But, they shone through the blackness like a light in the bottom of a never-ending pit. It was simply an illusion, however, meant to give her prey false hope. Apparating all around him to confuse him, Bellatrix sent the Cruciatus Curse in his direction to throw him off as she moved back over to the scrambling muggle. Planting her stiletto heel into his back and reveling in his cry, she slashed her wand in the air and screamed, "SECTUMSEMPRA!" The violent wave flashed just like the lightning in the sky, hitting the man with uncompromising strength. He let out a terrible roar of agony and Bellatrix simply smiled, throwing the Cruciatus Curse at him again. She lifted the muggle to his feet so as to better read the pain on his face. His blood dripped down him in torrents, splashing onto her countenance like paint. There, it stained the white perfection with pain, her appearance now only comprised of a deadly killer.
So, obviously, speaking of his family was also a jab into his well-maintained composure. Good. It was just like someone insulting her Dark Lord in front of her. But, anyone that did so was killed instantly, but only if they didn't put up a good fight. The weak ones were a bore to slaughter. There was no excitement leading up to their death because the climax was simply anti-climactic. She shrugged at his words, clearly unphased by his insults. "My parents do what is best for our society to continue. Yours do nothing but become weak in the knees at the thought of hurting someone else. It's pathetic and worthless." Her eyes sparkled brilliantly. Then, her teeth seemed to become pointier as James yelled about Sirius. She knew, like most everyone else, that the two had become like brothers. It was a shame, really. She knew Sirius to be intelligent and he could have been a real use to the Dark Lord if only he'd followed the orders of his parents like Regulus. And even though that youngster was very clever, he was too quiet for her liking. There was something off about him that she didn't like, and she even told her Lord about it, who simply put it off as nothing. And if he wasn't worrying about it, then why should she? His snarl made her heart beat faster with an excited fervor and she giggled madly, the sound full of velvet sickness. She allowed her eyes to meet his again before she whispered, quite brutally, with that smile of poison, "He will pay for betraying our family just like that filth I know longer call my sister! They will both die at the hands of the pure!" Her mind snapped for a moment at the thought of Andromeda and she clenched her fists in righteous fury. Her insanity leaked through her brain and fell through her expression and she glared at James as if he were the most disgusting thing she had ever laid eyes upon. He was going to hurt tonight. James glared at Bellatrix once again, wondering why this always had to happen to him. He found himself wishing for the millionth time that his friends were here. Well, he wished Sirius and Remus were here anyway. He highly doubted that Peter would actually help. He seemed more like a wimp than an actual fighter. Granted, none of them were fighters really, but Sirius, Remus and James all had the heart tat it took to be a fighter and stand up for whatever it was they believed it. James' eyes continued to follow Bellatrix's movement, never once leaving her. He couldn't chance it. He knew how she was. He frowned again as she once again talked about purebloods and stuff like that. He honestly thought she sounded mlike a raving lunatic, but he knew he couldn't say anything else about it. He glared at her and said in a cold voice. "I dont give a crap what I've tainted and havent tainted. I like anyone who wants to be my friend. So what if I like mudbloods? They deserve to stand right along side us!" James knew that he was really only defending them mostly because Lily was a mudblood. As for the traitors, he knew she was saying that because of the relationship he and Sirius had. Sirius had abandoned his family, or rather they had abandoned him, and he had come to live with James and his family.
A frown marred James' handsome features as he felt Bellatrix's hand on his shoulder, and then going over his chest. He fought the urge to shiver, and just kept his mouth shut. He didn't need to dig himself into anymore of a hole than he already had. He sighed soflty and said, "No, I will not give in. I am not like that. I don't hurt people just because I am mad.." He knew that much was true. He had calmed down alot since his younger days at Hogwarts. He didn't get as upset over things anymore. He fought the urge to yelp as he felt Bellatrix's nails digging into his skin. He glared at her for her remark about love. He loved Lily, she just didn't know it yet. He continued glaring at her and then said in a slightly sarcastic tone, "I'm sorry Bellatrix..."
He continued to point her wand at her, once again wishing this wasn't actually happening. He didn't want to fight her, mainly because he knew he would lose. She was trained more than he was. Sure he might be able to hold his own for a few minutes, but he knew eventually he would lose. He glared at her as he heard her voice and said, "No, I won't kill you..." He sighed to himself, wishing he wouldn't have said that. He watched the man on the floor scream in pain. James' eyes clouded over with sadness as he watched. There was nothing he could do. He was outmatched here, but it pained him to watch this. He didn't want innocent people getting hurt on his account. He cringed again as he heard the next spells. He watched the man even more, and then finally after she was down he muttered a quick healing spell. He wasn't very good at it, but he knew it would get the man out of pain.
He turned his attention once again back to Bellatrix, a hard line on his face. He hated it when people talked about his friends, and family. He glared at her and said, "I dont become weak in the knees about hurting people! I would just rather not do it. If I had a reason to hurt someone, I'd do it, anyone who knows he knows that!" His eyes burned bright, but in his mind, he was constantly telling himself that he needed to calm down. He had slightly started calming down but then she started talking about Sirius again. He glared at her, his mouth set in a hard line once again as he growled, "He will not fall to the likes of you! I will protect him at all costs....he is MY family now, and you will NOT touch him..."
It was then that James drew his wand again. He didn't know what he was going to do, he actually didn't even start thinking about it. He started muttering, "Avad..." He immediatly stopped himself, the fire leaving his eyes. Had he seriously just been about to do that. He shook his head, lower his wand slightly. He had never even come close to uttering those words before, yet she had made him do it in a matter of minutes. He sighed softly, not saying anything, just continuing to look at her.

Bellatrix always enjoyed finding people alone, as if they were her prey, falling straight into her trap. But, it wasn't as if she ever planned anything. When she saw a potential victim, she made sure to ensnare them without a second thought. It was just her personality, the spider's venom seeping into every vein of her corroded insides. The silver eyes lit with amusement at the sight of James' continual watch of herself. He would never be able to guess what her next thought was, for in the second that she had the inclination to do something, he would already be reeling. She mocked him in her baby voice, "You like anyone who wants to be your friend." A smirk. "How disgusting. Some do not deserve to be in the shadows of greatness . . . I can see that great blood and power was wasted on the likes of you. You give a revolting name to those of us purebloods that wish to keep the world under control." She crept closer to him, her grey puddles sparkling with anticipation. She touched his shoulder, circling around him, waiting for him to make the wrong move. "You see, Potter, I know everything there is to know about you. I know where your family is and where your loved ones are. I have my own insight to the world of Hogwarts, eyes that watch your every move. I can kill you without even being near you." Her corrupted smile turned into a wicked smirk, the corners of her mouth curving like a hyena's snarl. Bellatrix could practically feel his urges to shiver, for there was a slight trepidation in his movements. He was braver than she had thought, more foolish than he could realize. The fact that he didn't reply also showed her that he learned quickly, on certain things. She tilted her head, stopping in front of him and moving her perfectly porcelain face right before his. Her silver eyes tore into his, ripping him apart with just a gaze. "But, that's when it's the most fun to kill someone, Jamesy. When they least expect it." Her lips curved into that wicked smile once more, moving her mouth to his ear as she grasped onto his shoulders with her long and cruelly white fingers. "It's so easy to give into the madness, Potter. When you get tired, I'll be waiting." She bounded away from him, her lithe movements somewhat shocking for so frail a body. Her gaze hardened at his words. "Don't patronize me, filth. I can spot a lie before it is spoken. If you don't learn anything at that damn school, remember this: Never say what you don't mean. Follow my example." Her silver eyes seemed to shape into a grin, her pointed face curling with delight.
Seeing the realization of his loss flash in his eyes, Bellatrix nodded and muttered, "You are smarter than I ever thought you to be, Potter. Your common sense is startling, to say the least. I am surprised that you have such revelations of wisdom." She smiled a cruel smile when he spoke once more. He knew nothing of how to kill a person, nothing of how to revel in the pain. With a cold chuckle, she whispered, "That's right, Potter, you don't have the gall to do such a thing. You don't even know where to begin, do you? You don't have a passion for the agony of others, wishing to feel their blood on your hands. Such a blessing, really, if you think about it. But, you wouldn't know. You're just too weak to do anything but protect yourself. You need to learn to fight, Potter. Be a man. I daresay I'm more of one than you'll ever be." She smiled cruelly. The sadness in Potter's eyes just infuriated Bellatrix. She thought it disgusting. Her jaw clenched and she threw another wave of the Cruciatus Curse at the man, his screams flowing into her ears like a sweet song. Turning wildly back to James, she exclaimed, "If you're so wonderful, protect him! If you're so brave, show some courage!" She laughed horribly, the sound laced with arsenic. Her chuckle echoed throughout the alley and then she saw it. Her silver eyes zipped in the direction of James, who she had noticed direct a spell toward the body of the muggle. Upon seeing the light hit the unfortunate filth, she noticed that his pain was relieved, even just slightly. Infuriated, Bellatrix clenched her fists, the anger pumping through her veins. The wind from the storm violently whipped her hair around her face, tinging it with a horrid expression, one that could make the bravest of men scramble to their knees. But, would James be so weak? Smiling in that twisted manner, her teeth pointed like a spider's fangs, she screamed, "NO, NO, NO! FIGHT ME OR I KILL HIM!" Her silver eyes flashed a deep gray, the color nearly turning into black. She slashed her wand in the air once more, sending the muggle man reeling back at least fifteen feet, his body hitting the brick wall with force. He fell to the ground in a heap, his body tangled upon the soaking ground.
The rain fell harder as James began to talk, but Bellatrix could hear him perfectly. As her black coat stuck to her frail body, she continued to smile, twirling her wand between her fingers like she was bored. She knew he disilked the hurtful words she was using to describe his friends and family, but that's just what she fed on. She wanted to eat up his happiness, to ruin him of his goodwill. But, it was becoming a difficult task. But, she would get him, in one way or another. Her smile curled farther upon her face as she whispered, "What if I were to capture your precious mudblood and threaten her with death, Potter? The only option you would have was to kill me. You know that I will not be negotiated with, unless there is more blood in it for me. Tell me, what would you do?" She giggled cruelly when she noticed that she was finally getting to him. The anger burned visibly in his eyes, the fury clouding his vision. It made her simply grin wider. She threw her head back and cackled wildly, the glint in her eyes shining with anticipation. Then, all of a sudden, she snapped her head back to face him, ridding her expression of all emotion save for undeniable wickedness. "Prove it, Potter. Protect your fellow blood traitor." She felt the excitement flood her bones when his wand was drawn once more. She egged him on with her eyes, carefully and lithely moving closer to him as if she were a crouching lion looking for a lonely gazelle. She began to jump up and down when he spoke the beginning of the killing curse. Wildly, she screamed, "YOU HAVE TO FEEL IT! BE THE ANGER, POTTER! TASTE THE FURY! LET IT OVERPOWER YOU!" She watched the fire leave his eyes and became more furious as the seconds ticked by. How idiotic was he? Did he not realize that she wanted to kill him with every pore in her body? The gaze in his eyes made her irate and slashing her wand in the air, she thought an onslaught of curses, three of the Cruciatus and one of the Sectumsempra. They were all aimed at Potter.
Her head bowed and she looked at him through a thick layer of black hair. "Prove yourself or die."

The black haired seventeen year old had just about had enough of Bellatrix. He hated her with a passion, as did his best friends. Speaking of which, James found himself wishing that Padfoot and Moony were here with him. He hated being alone, especially because he knew that's how Bellatrix worked. She picked out people that were alone and went after them. As he listened to her talk, a frown came to James' face. Of course he liked anyone who wanted to be his friend. He wasn't a complete jerk, like everyone thought. He glared at her when she talked about greatness being wasted on him. He forced himself not to say anything to her. He really did not want to be doing this right now, but it looked as though he had no choice.
James Potter finally felt an unfamiliar shiver go up his spine as Bellatrix touched his shoulder. He remained quiet, trying not to show how much this was bugging him. He glared at her again and said, "If you harm my parents....I swear..." He shut his mouth, realizing that he didn't really want to piss her off. He looked at her and said, "You know nothing about the ones I love...besides Sirius...." He glared at her again wishing that he would learn to bite his tounge a little more. He was already in deep here, and he was just going to get in deeper if he didn't keep his mouth shut. He finally couldn't hold it in any longer., As she told him to follow her example, he shook his head and said, "I would never follow your example...ever...."
He once again heard her voice, telling him that his common sense was good. His mouth was set in a thin, hard line and he didn't respond. Maybe if he didn't respond, she would leave him alone, although he highly doubted it. He continued listening to her and frowned again, the fire beginning to come back into his eyes slightly as she made fun of his fighting skills. It's not that he didn't have any, he would just rather not use them. He hated fighting, except for when it was neccesary. He was beginning to think that it was neccesary, although he just wanted to protect the man and not get into a fight with Bellatrix.
James could feel the rain falling down, pelting him in the face, but he didn't care. He heard her and said, "No, I'm not fighting anyone..." He then watched as Bellatrix sent another spell towards the man, and this time there was noting hee could do. He glared at her again, trying not to let his anger shine through. He didn't want anything to happen, he just wanted to leave. The next thing James heard made his head spin and then the fire began coming back into his eyes. There was no way he would let Bellatrix do anything to Lily. He guessed that's why she had said that, because she knew that was one of three things James would get riled up over.
He glared at her and said, "You know I'd die to protect her..." He sighed softly, the fire leaving his eyes slightly as he lowered his wand slightly. He shook his head and said, "No Bellatrix, I don't want to feel the anger..that's not me anymore..." He glared at her again and said, "I don't want to fight, and I won't...." He continued looking at her, trying to figure out if there was a way to get out, or if he would really have to fight her, because that is one thing he didn't want to do, and he wasn't sure that he could win against someone like her anyway.

Lily always loved London. It was always so much bigger, and so much more fascinating than her home town. The couple trips a year were always exciting. Now that she went to Hogwarts, she seemed to be in London more than ever. She had to go there for stuff for school, in summer she took frequent trips to the city, and for short holidays, her family typically met her in London. It was easier to stay there for a few days, instead of spending hours to get her from the station, then go there and back again.
This trip to London had been planned for quite some time. Family was down from Wales, and her mother suggested London because there was much more to do there. Lily didn't oppose, she loved London. That and she was getting to the point that she desperatly needed new clothes. It wasn't that she hated shopping, she just thought it was useless to spend money on clothes when 90% of the time she was in her uniform. At school she made due with what she had, but now it seemed like the collection of things she had and liked were getting thinner by the day. She needed a shopping trip, and needed it bad. She really wasn't one for witches trends, so it was a matter of when she could get to a muggle store. Her family's visit was all too convieniant.
Most of the morning she had been out with her mother, but the two girls parted ways mid way through the day. Which left Lily alone to explore the city. She didn't mind, liked exploring on her own. It gave an opportunity to be selfish, and see the things she wanted to see. Sometimes its really just nice to have time to yourself. Lily was expecting a peaceful afternoon. Thought she'd be back at the hotel within the hour. Little did she know she was dead wrong about that.
She didn't expect to run into anyone from school. She never did. Not in London at least, near Diagon Alley was another story, but in the muggle districts she rarely noticed anyone who even seemed like they were aware of the existance of whichs and wizards. So to see James was a little bit of a surprise. To see Bellatrix Black, was all around shocking. Bellatrix Black around muggles? The idea alone seemed crazy.
Lily had first seen Bellatrix outside of the small shop. Lily was inside, and noticed a shop keeper eyeing the woman outside of the glass suspiciously. At first, she thought it was an odd coincidence, that someone simply looked like the witch. Made more sense than picturing the woman around muggles. But then as she left the shop, she saw her again, disappear down an alley, grabbing a muggle by the collar.
It was still hard to believe it was her, it didn't make sense in Lily's head. But her clothes, that style, that all around sense of arrogance, that wasn't a muggle. It was Bellatrix Black.
Maybe it wasn't the best decision she had ever made, but her curiousity got the best of her. Her hands slipped into the pockets of her charcoal jacket as she slowly walked towards the alley, her right hand grasping tightly against her wand. It was just a precaution. She never expected to use it, but with a girl like Bella, you had to be cautious.
The sight she saw when she entered the alley made it clear her quiet afternoon was over. "James?" She said almost instantly as she stepped into the alley. Funny, there was a muggle on the ground, a death eater with her wand out, and the first thing she notices is James Potter. It's funny where your mind goes to. He was a good surprise, the situation she found him in, well.. that wasn't so positive. Her mind instantly went to the context of the situtation. This wasn't good, not at all. What seemed to be a pissed of death eater, and a dying muggle were sure signs this wasn't going to end well. And the fact Bellatrix's wand was currently aimed at James did nothing to ease her mind.
She couldn't figure out why his wand was lowered. Maybe he was being bold, prooving a point. Lily couldn't afford to do that. She was a muggle born, and Bellatrix fought to rid the world of people like Lily Evans. No, she couldn't aford to let her gaurd down. She pulled her wand from her pocket, pointing it directly at the woman. "Lo Bellatrix." Lily said almost sarcastically, a clear tone of discontent in her voice.

The hatred burning in James's eyes made Bellatrix grin wider, her teeth shining like a wolf who had finally caught its lamb. When he frowned, she found herself waiting, wanting him to attack and fight back. But, he was just too calm for her. She needed to find a way to trip his trigger or she wouldn't be having any fun today. Bellatrix knew that if all of the Marauders were together, she could take them all down alone, but most considered her to be cowardly if she were to go for the lone warriors, but she didn't care. She didn't even think of it like that for when she saw prey, she went after it without a second thought. It wasn't a matter as to how many there were of them; it was a matter of how many she could kill. She appreciated the glare, for that only meant that she was getting to him. She only wished she knew his deepest annoyance so as to strike him when he thought he had gained the advantage. Her blood boiled when he said nothing and she found herself desiring to see his flesh ripped from his bone and his crimson blood soaking on the ground around him. Smiling wickedly, she raised her wand and thought, SECTUMSEMPRA! She wanted his blood. As the spell flew towards him, she felt the rain pour harder down upon her. Feeling as if her trench coat was hampering her, she slid out of it and then slashed her wand in the air, sending it home. All she had left on was a long black dress, a little tattered in certain areas, but none the less striking. It stuck to her body like a sack, revealing the quaint body of its wearer. Although her thin figured appeared to be unhealthy, she was as in shape as one could get. Smiling back at James, she moved the long black hair out of her face, showing her porcelain visage, which was riddled with irritation and amusement. Not being able to stifle it, she giggled cruelly, the sound venomous in its depths.
She fluttered her lashes as his half-threat came to pass through his lips. Zipping in front of his face, she leaned as close as possible without touching him and whispered, "You swear what, Potter? Are you going to hurt me? Oh, I'm so frightened. Help me! Help me! He's going to hurt me!" Her cackle erupted into the air around them, the sound vibrating off of the buildings as the thunder enhanced it. She shook her head, staring at him as if he were a foolish little brat, which he was to be honest. How could he be so daft as to think that she didn't know about his loved ones? She knew everything about her enemies, especially those that were close to her traitorous cousin. "I know more than you realize, obviously." Her silver eyes flashed mutinously. "Don't underestimate me, Potter. You know as well as I do that could kill them with a blink of my eye. Care to press it?" Her smile turned cold. Her eyebrows raised high upon her forehead as he spoke again and she couldn't help but giggle viciously. "Well, why don't you prove it, Potter? Fight me and show me that you are better!" She knew that he would never be better than her, but it was always fun to think so.
Sighing loudly, Bellatrix groaned before exclaiming, "Ignoring me will get you nowhere, Potter! Where did you learn your conversational skills? Were you always this talkative? Merlin, it's as if I don't even get a word in!" Another cackle escaped through her lips, tinging her face with contempt. She could see the burning desire in his eyes and she wished with every fiber of her being that he would act upon those wishes. Maybe if she could get to his heart, she could get to the root. She had to find a way to rip his heart open. "How do you ever expect to fight other Death Eaters if you won't fight the best one there is? Don't you want to become an Auror like Sirius? Well, I can give him some credit. At least he knows how to hold a wand. You, on the other hand, have no idea." Infuriated at his determination to hold his peace, Bellatrix let out a scream of utter madness. With fervor, she pelted many different spells at him, at least six. Three of them were the Killing Curse while the others were a mixture of Sectumsempra and the Cruciatus Curse. She watched as the anger burned in his eyes as she hurt the muggle, but he refused to do anything. "DO SOMETHING OR I WILL!" She hoped that he was smart enough to realize that she was going to kill this man if he didn't fight her. Finally, she had gotten to him. It seemed rather funny that he was angrier about losing Lily than he was anyone else, but she was too glad that she had found what infuriated him the most. Now, all she had to do was find the mudblood. "Yes, Potter, I am quite aware of that . . . AND YOU WILL FEEL THE ANGER IF I THREATEN HER LIFE. How about a field trip?"
Before she apparated towards Hogsmeade to see if she could find Evans, Bellatrix saw her. The flaming red hair was unmistakable. When the soft voice flew into the raven-haired witch's ears, she couldn't help but smile at the surprise and concern that fluctuated throughout it. How simply perfect. Her lips curled into a wicked and dangerous smile when Lily's emeralds flew in her direction and she spoke her name. From such dirty lips, a mudblood dare speak a name so pure! It was downright insane! But, it only fueled her fire. With a gentle nod of her head, she cackled softly and muttered, "Hello, filth, we were just talking about you. More me than Potter, here, for he has barely said another word besides the fact that he refused to fight me. But I wonder if he'll say the same when your life is in danger. It's a good thing you got here, because I was about to come looking for you. With that smell all around you, you wouldn't be hard to find. I can sense mudblood miles away." She smiled cruelly again and then apparated behind the pair, aiming her wand at Lily's back and thinking, SECTUMSEMPRA! Maybe she could have both types of blood on her hands.
