Sighing softly as she walked into The Three Broomsticks, it had been a couple days since the infamous arguement that had occurred in Gryffindor Common Room between the Marauders, Remus, whose secret she'd revealed she'd known about, Sirius, the guard dog and her boyfriend James. Sighing softly, she'd left a letter by Remus' bed thanks to an owl. She needed to talk to him at least get them back to where they would be on good terms again. She hated him being mad at her over this.
It was a Friday evening but she paid the bartender enough so that he'd kicked his entire crowd gone for the night. She'd saved enough money for an event like this. Her eyes sparkled, it was right around six muggle time. Remus had told her he'd meet her at six, and while yes he was running a little late, she couldn't help but be okay with it. After all she'd hurt him, not the other way around. She knew she would be bitched out by him as well.
Suddenly she felt a cold wind, when she turned around only to see the front door wide open, and there stood none other than Remus Lupin standing there. She was happy that at least he showed up, and was surprised that he had shown up alone. She could not tell if that was a good thing or not. But she was sitting in the usual spot that she'd seen James, Remus, Peter and Sirius sit on many occassions, leaving his usual spot open for him. She was sitting where James usually sat. Knowing of course this may end up to be a tense conversation, she'd already ordered a firewhiskey for Remus and it was already sitting at the table when he had arrived. She waved to him, and waited to see if he would walk over, she ordered herself a water. She didn't feel like drinking. No it was better if she remained sober. Besides, she knew better than to be intrusive again, as she had felt guilty after last time.
"Hello Remus." She said as she walked over to greet him. Her eyes were lit up due to the lights in the joint. Smirking softly. "I'm sitting at your usual table, I hope that's alright." She said as she waited to see if he would walk over there first or if he'd just stand there dumbfounded. "The only customers the bartender will be having, is us. I made sure to clear the place out. It wasn't all that difficult. Just paid off the bartender." She chuckled honestly, a move her sister had once done, when they were actually getting along.

Remus was apprehensive about this entire thing. Part of him wanted to simply avoid Lily at all costs and push her away, but the more reasonable part of him told him that it couldn’t be that way. James wouldn’t have that. Out of pure respect for his friend’s happiness, Remus had decided it was best to go and patch things over with Lily. Unlike Sirius, he really didn’t mind her, aside from the trouble she had caused. But he knew it had more or less been an accident, and she had already apologized multiple times. Now it was his turn.
As he stepped through the doorway to the Three Broomsticks, Remus was mildly surprised at how empty it was. Especially since it was a Friday night. Normally the place would be packed full of people. Honestly the silence was a little eerie and creepy. After a moment, Remus found the familiar redhead headed towards him. A smile, slightly forced as it was, grew onto his lips. ”Hello.” He greeted in return. Oh this was definitely going to be a long night.
Glancing over at their usual table, Remus made note of the firewhiskey sitting in front of where he always sat. Well, Lily certainly was an observant one. ”No, I don’t mind.” He answered with a shrug. It was just a table, after all. An eyebrow rose, and Remus took a moment to look over towards the bar. So that’s why it was so empty. But was it really safe to talk in an empty bar with the bartender there? Whatever. ”I see.”
Without another word, Remus turned and headed over towards the table. The drink was looking incredibly inviting, and no doubt it would calm his ever growing nerves. Once he sat, he pulled the Firewhiskey closer to him and waited for Lily to sit. Once she had, he glanced over at her and then bowed his head, focusing his attention on the grains of the wood table. ”I apologize for my behavior the other night.” [/blockquote]

"Don't worry, the bartender is not going to be around for long. He's got to go and get his shipment settled in the back. I promised I wouldn't let the establishement burn so he's trusting me a little. I guess that's where I have some impact." She chuckled softly. She had made sure that another incident like the other night would not happen. She had hated seeing Remus so upset. Though he had every reason in the world to be upset with her for what she had said and done that night. Still, it was a good sign he was apologizing.
"No, Remus, I was the one who shouldn't have said anything. It wasn't my place to. But thank you." She sat in James' place, and smiled softly. She took a sip of her water. It was a mineral water, one that she loved drinking. "I observed alot of things the few times I've been here alone. While you and your mates sat here and drank alot." She chuckled. It was a good thing, sure it was a forced kind of thing, but only because he didn't seem to be enjoying himself. And she didn't want him to stay if he didn't feel like he wanted to.
"Which as many times as I've been in and out of this bar, the bartender doesn't even ask questions anymore. I just ask him to do something and he does it." She smirked softly. "I just may be a tad bit persuasive, but eh, times like this kind of call for it. Especially when I want to get a conversation started and patch things up. I am sorry Remus, really I am, as I never meant to hurt you. I was just trying to warn you and your friends and yes I picked a very stupid time to do it. So again, I'm sorry." She spoke elequantly, almost as if she had rehearsed what she had said to him although she hadn't.
The bartender did move out of the way, and toward where his shipment was. She was relieved so he'd be back there for at least an hour or two. The front door was locked so she and Remus could have their talk. "It's so much more difficult getting things done when you're way in over your head...like I've been the last few days. I've tried and tried to think of any way, that what I did was justified but it wasn't. None of it was. Did you enjoy the chocolate, 'cause I think I gave you like four boxes with over a hundred and fourty four pieces. Please tell me you guys aren't still arguing like how I left the room the other night. You and James and Sirius, you three have been like brothers ever since I've known you guys and it'd be a shame to think that I'd caused a major rip in your friendship when I wasn't trying to." She said, her eyes sparkling in the very little light that was in the bar.

Well that was certainly more reassuring to hear. It wasn’t all too surprising that Lily had the trust of the bartender. She was such a good person, someone that hardly got into any trouble. Much like Remus himself. They both had the respect and trust of a lot of people due to their good behavior and grades. Remus smiled, nodding his head. ”Not all that surprising, really. A lot of people trust you.”
Sighing, the blond Marauder picked up the firewhiskey and took a drink from it. Oh, how he had forgotten how good they tasted. It had been a while. ”No, you had ever right to say something. I just shouldn’t have freaked out like that.” That whole situation could have been handled better. Unfortunately, Sirius had a nasty protective side and it just happened to be an extremely touchy subject with Remus. It probably would have gone better if Lily had only approached Remus about it, but it was in the past.
”No, I know. You aren’t the type to purposely hurt others. You meant well. You just..I don’t think you realized it’s such a touchy subject.” Being a Werewolf wasn’t like being a Giant, or a Veela, or any other sort of ethnicity. It was a lot harsher, and one that just couldn’t be talked about openly. Remus had a lot of bad memories when it came to being, and becoming, a Werewolf and he didn’t like thinking about them. ”It’s fine, really. It was bound to happen sooner or later. You have a right to know, since you’re so close to James..” She had every right to know where they were running off on full moons, and to know what sort of trouble her new love interest was getting himself into.
Remus watched as the bartender moved, his eyes trailing as he moved around and then disappeared through another door. Finally he turned his attention back over to Lily. A slight smirk appeared on his lips as she mentioned the large amount of chocolate that she had given him. ”I shared some of it with James and Sirius, but there’s still plenty left. It’s delicious.” A small laugh escaped the Werewolf as she asked if they were still fighting. ”I think Sirius is still upset, but he’ll get over himself soon enough.” The Marauders had fought before, maybe not as bad as the one they had just had, but it had happened before. ”Don’t worry about it. Everything will be fine.” [/blockquote]

She levitated a few glasses in the air, and made them come closer to her, of course they were refills of what she and Remus had been drinking. She wasn't always a rule follower, as she sometimes did things for personal gain. Granted not enough, to be considered evil in another's eye, but still enough so that one could see the subtle difference. She also was able to light up the room in a better way. She knew that Remus had walked into this, with an open mind from what she could see, and she was grateful for it. Knowing he didn't even have to come.
"Yeah, and sometimes I've put trust in others and it tended to bite me in the arse." She chuckled slightly. "Take my former best friend for example." She smiled as she took another drink of her mineral water. Sighing softly, she understood where he had come from. "You're right, I should have just gone to you, but I figured, it wouldn't set them off nearly as much as it would have set you off. I mean I expected your reaction, and Sirius' too, but I didn't expect James. I mean for the first time I felt like he didn't have the same backbone he usually did. Usually you three, you've been best mates since the start of first year, and I figured he'd side with you instead of being so neutral about it. It wouldn't have bothered me if he had sided with you, for the simple fact your bond is much stronger than my own with him." She smirked softly. She was quite jealous of the way their bond was, she didn't have that kind of bond with anyone aside from her muggle friends. And even then, their connection wasn't as strong as the one she'd seen with the four boys.
"Sometimes I feel like I'm breaking up a party when I'm trying to talk to James. Without trying to hex him. I know for a fact Sirius can't stand me. Peter's well Peter, and you just kind of tend to....shut everybody out, I've noticed. Though I am sorry that I brought it up in a way that hurt you, I mean that's never been my intention." She sighed softly. "It won't happen again, I assure you of that, and your secret and theirs, is safe with me. Nobody'll know about it, and anyone who had walked in, while our conversation in the Common room was being held, had their memories wiped clean. I'm just that good with magic. Especially potions, you'll find that I can come in handy. I'm glad you did share it with the boys, though, I mean I gave it mainly to you, because I know that chocolate helps, especially around the time of the full moon. Sirius is just who he is, you'll have to accept that. I know I already have. He actually reminds me of a muggle friend's brother. They act so much alike. It's not even funny. I guess that's why I'm partial to making sure you all don't get in trouble, because you all remind me of at least someone at home, well with the exception of James anyway. Peter's the darn rat, I swear nobody really knows what to do with him. And he won't amount to anything the way he keeps sneaking off. James tells me he's not been hanging around you guys as much and that is worrysome. Makes me wonder what the rat's up to now." She sighed softly as she looked at Remus. She finished the mineral water with ease, and another soon was replaced. This time what she drank, was a firewhiskey. She did drink occassionally just not that often.

Remus offered her a slight smile as she spoke of trust. ”Yes, well unfortunately that happens and there isn’t much that can be done about it.” If anyone were to know about trust and betrayal it was definitely Remus. But he wasn’t about to go off and bring that up. He didn’t even like thinking about it. Remus nodded his head, agreeing completely with what she was saying. ”I think that’s what upset Sirius and I the most. I expect he was trying to keep neutral to keep form upsetting you. He’s worked too hard trying to get you to notice him, so he doesn’t want to mess things up.” And of course, that was the thing that would always keep the Marauders tied together. No matter what, it was the bond between them that kept them through thick and thin. ”We’ve been through a lot.”
Chuckling softly, Remus gave a small shrug of his shoulders. ”I accepted Sirius for who he was the first year I met him.” After all, it wasn’t like he was mad at him or anything. He was grateful for Sirius’ friendship, as well as everyone else’s of course. Even if he tended to try and push them away at times. It never seemed to work, and usually it only got him a few hours of peace and quiet. Then they would start up again with bugging him. A small grin curled at the corners of his lips. ”Yes, they are incredibly close. That’s why I’m sure Sirius will get over his selfishness and learn to share. Perhaps not right away, but he will.” If he valued James’ friendship he would. Remus tapped his fingers against the wooden table, nodding his head. ”I’m not sure what Peter is up to..but it’s definitely not good, I’m sure of that.” Peter had started to go off on his own, which was odd since he had been practically glued to their side since they first met. Ah well, Remus didn’t feel like worrying about it right now.
Lifting the drink, Remus took another short drink from it and then set it back down. Looking back over at Lily he asked, ”Have you talked to James since the fight? Did he explain to you at all what we do on those nights?” Lily had a right to know, if she was dating James now. Which he was certain they were. [/blockquote]

She chuckled slightly as she didn't know what to expect anymore. "You know....better than most. I wouldn't have gotten upset with him over that. I mean I expected you three to stick together as you always have. I've always noticed him, it was kind of hard not to, with you all running around with your heads cut off at times and all the pranks that seemed to be directed toward Severus. I mean seriously, I think I lost count of how many you had pulled on him before fifth year." She chuckled as she remembered all those encounters, it had been fun to ruin what they had been planning even though they usually always managed to get her back for that. She used to get so angry when they pranked her.
She took another drink of her firewhiskey, and the glass was now half empty. She couldn't outdrink the boys, not that she would ever try. "Out of the four of you, Remus, Peter was the only one I couldn't stand. I always knew he was hiding something, and my best instinct would be that he is bound to do a betrayal. Although I'm not sure of what kind, as I can't prove it, but the way he's been sneaking around, hiding from you guys, just makes me wonder. After all that's not a good thing." She said softly, as then he asked the question of if James had told her what it is that they do on the full moon nights.
"He hasn't said anything. But from what I'm guessing, you all sneak out of the dormitory, I'm guessing after everyone else has gone to bed, or at least is supposed to have gone to bed, your transformation starts, or has already been done, and you hide either in the Shrieking Shack or the forrest. Then when the other three comes, well, Peter's a rat, I'm pretty sure, Sirius acts like the dog, of the group, so I'm sure that's what his animagus form is. And James, well he's probably a Stag or something, a male deer. Which is pretty interesting in and of itself, although I'm sure it took years for them to get their animagus forms down. You're pretty fortunate that you guys are that close. I mean the only being I was that close to was Severus, and even that didn't work out. I mean you have friends that would do anything for you. They've managed to help maintain your secret, keep it under wraps so that other students didn't catch on. I think the only reason I was able to find out as easily as I did, was because I noticed a pattern....the nights you were all sneaking out, all of you together, were around the full moon, and then there were those nights where I'd be doing rounds and I'd see figures in the forrest's edge, and then I overheard Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall discussing Fenir Greyback, and it just kind of clicked. And then, right before I found out what you guys had been up to, at least partially, can't guarantee I'm right about everything, however, James had asked me out. I told him I would, but only if there wouldn't be any problems with it. And right now, because I know what you four now are, I think there's going to be some....well issues for a while." She sighed softly, hoping things would change for now.
"Sirius already can't stand me, and I'm pretty sure he's the only one. I could care less how Peter feels, he's not really one I trust anyway. But the only reason I'm even willing to try is because I don't want James to feel like he has to choose between his friends or myself. Because that's not right....I know that he couldn't live if he couldn't be around you guys. You all have been like brothers practically since first year, especially him and Sirius. After all James' family took Sirius in, when no one else would. I don't know the backstory on Sirius enough, but I do know his family is not very nice toward him. I can see that every time he looks at Regulus." She said softly, looking at him as she continued to drink the firewhiskey. By this time, when she sat it down, there wasn't very much left in the glass. She was still mostly sober, but she would have to watch how much she drank. So she wouldn't have any real problems.

Remus couldn’t help but laugh, his head nodding in agreement. James apparently didn’t understand that though. ”Yes, well perhaps that is something you should talk to James about in the future.” After what had happened though, he doubted that James would ever try and pull something like that. It was always good to reassure others though. A sly grin appeared on his lips as she mentioned their pranks and Snape. ”I doubt it will end till we graduate either.”
And then she brought up Peter. Naturally he had noticed the changes in his behavior, as well as hearing from others about his sneaking around. But the boy was such a nervous mess that he doubted he would really do any harm. ”It’s possible, but I’m not sure. He doesn’t strike me as having enough courage to do anything so daring. He won’t even help us with most of the pranks.” He replied with a shrug of his shoulders.
Remus supposed that the patters would have given her some sort of hint. But not everything she said was correct. ”Not entirely correct. We never sneak out together.” Not once in the past few years had he ever left with James, Sirius and Peter to go off to the Whomping Willow. That was too dangerous, and would have given away that they were all really up to something. ”Madam Pomfrey always escorts me out to the Whomping Willow. She has ever since my first year.” And to change that routine would surely show that something was up. Not only that, but something else didn’t make sense. ”They use the invisibility cloak too, so I’m not completely sure how you could have seen them. And how did you guess about the animagus? And their forms?”
The blond nodded slowly as she spoke of Sirius. Yes, Sirius and James were incredibly close. At first he had been jealous at times, but now he was simply content. Content to have friends that cared so much about him. Besides that, Sirius and James were very similar in behavior and interests. Remus was the oddball of the group. Peter acted like he was interested, but that was just to fit in with them. That was obvious enough. ”Sirius is just protective is all. With time perhaps he will tell you about his history, but I will not. It’s not my place.” Sirius’ history was dark, it wasn’t simple, and Remus wouldn’t feel comfortable telling anyone about it. It would be like Sirius telling someone his past. It just wasn’t something friends did to each other. ”At any rate, I’m sure he’ll come around eventually. Just give him some time.” It was one of his many dog-like qualities. He was wary at first, but eventually warmed up. The thought caused a slight smirk to appear on Remus' lips. If he told that to Sirius he would surely get kicked. [/blockquote]

Sighing softly, she looked at Remus and gave him a small smile. "I plan to. I mean I don't want to put you guys in danger, that's not what I intended to do, and I know you guys probably think I overstep my boundaries in alot of ways, but you guys are my housemates, and I'm trying to understand you guys....so that I don't end up getting you in trouble, and it seems to bite me in the arse every time." She spoke softly, keeping a subtle tone, so as not to overdo it. Keeping a steady tone was important.
"I knew it either had to be your friends or one of the staff members...although I expected the boys wouldn't have let you out of their sight for a minute. As far as I know, they're all, Sirius and James especially, overly cautious, and protective of you, as they should be. I don't remember exactly when I started seeing the shapes, had to have been towards the end of the year, last year I believe it was. I'd started noticing a pattern, and the way you all are so close. But, to be honest....I took a look at the patterns...which were hard to see, at first. But then I noticed you started getting sick around the time of the full moon, or at least you were crankier than usual, and then I'd seen on occassion how Sirius and James would slip you chocolate. You guys are very similar, if I hadn't known you, James or Sirius, I would have guessed you guys were brothers the way you all act. Because of your unique bond. As far as the animagus part comes in, it didn't really register completely until I heard that statment, although I hadn't intended to, by Professor Dumbledore as he was talking to Professor McGonagall about how he was afraid that Fenir Greyback's return to the forest, and I'd known the rumers about him, had since first year. It wasn't hard to, after all I read alot, and well being the quiet type you hear alot more information than if you're loud and obnoxious. As far as their forms are concerned, Peter to me, has always been like a coward, and likes to hide alot of the time, which rats, especially the ones I knew back home, a friend had a pet rat, and it hides every time it gets scared or begins to feel sick." She took a deep and centered breath. "Sirius, it was his overprotective side, true he is one of the top pranksters, and I will give him that, however, whenever anyone got too close to you or James, he seemed to step in, and kind of guard the situation very carefully as only a dog would. James, now that boy, it was harder than hell to figure his out, especially as the only thing that reminds me as a connection between James and a Stag would be that they both like to stand out. James, the first thing I knew about him was he liked to watch others as he is very observant, and notices his surroundings, and that, comes in part to his pranking abilities, it's what makes him so good at it. And Stags...deer in general are the same way, they watch other animals, to make sure it's safe for them in whatever territory they may venture into, and are very observant in their surroundings so as not to fall for a predator's trap. In this case, it'd be like James fearing that Severus would retaliate. The two have hated eachother their entire lives. Not that I'm ever going to figure out why that is. Other than they both, well wanted me in their life. I mean, James didn't seem interested in anything up until about third or fourth year."
She explained as she rationally went through each of the boys like their counterparts. "And Sirius may never, I don't know. I'm not going to ask anyone else about his life, because that's not up to them to discuss. That's between Sirius and whoever he wants to let into his life, whatever kind of life he'd had before moving in with James and his family. Which, I'm glad about actually. 'Cause I could see the boys, Regulus and Sirius, constantly at eachother's throats, and I think mainly it's because of the house rivalries, at least here at school anyway. But it's also partially because Regulus doesn't seem to care about anyone but himself and his 'pureblood' status, while Sirius actually gives a care about what happens, and he has friends whom he'd stick by no matter the consequences. He may come around eventually, but I'm not going to push the situation on anyone, every one of you will either learn to tolerate me being around, or you won't. It's as simple as that, but I'm not going to break up with James simply because you may or may not like me. Although I'm sure as good of friends as you all are, that you can handle whatever is thrown at you, irregardless of what it may or may not be."
She spoke as she was trying to put this as wisely said as possible. Remus was very much a good guy and so she wanted nothing but the best for him, and same for Sirius. As far as Peter went, well, she knew something wasn't right with him but she wasn't going to bring that subject up until she had actual proof instead of her own intuitions. And usually she was dead on about any information, except for the rare occassion, when she was shooting in the dark as she had been that day in the Common Roon in front of James, Sirius and Remus.
