Kacie felt Sirius' hands clench into fists as he held her. Softly, he sighed. He moved away from her and then plopped down on the ground, looking almost as exhausted as she felt. Even in this state, she could not help but admire him. The line of his jaw, the form of his brow, the light in his eyes...it was all too overwhelming to bear, and yet, she found she could not look away. When Sirius grabbed, she most certainly was not expecting it, letting out a surprisingly girlish sound of surprise. When she felt his body beneath hers, cushioning the fall, she proceeded to laugh, clutching her sides in an attempt to ease the growing pain in her ribs. She didn't know why she found it so funny, yet she did. When he wrapped his arms around her tightly, she leaned into his embrace with a contented smile. "Then, I will forgive you for both of our sakes." He touched his nose to hers, smiling widely as he did so. She grinned back with a hint of mischief and invitation. As if sensing his mental dilema, she turned in his arms, wrapping her own around his neck as she pressed her lips against his jaw, just below his ear. She understood what he was trying to portray, and as she stared into his silver eyes, she hoped that he would understand the silent words in her own.
I wish I deserved someone as wonderful as you.
Kacie's eyes fluttered in surprise as she felt Sirius' lips against her own. Before she really had the chance to react to this sudden display of affection, he had pulled away. Though it was brief, that fleeting kiss had left her with a gradually racing heart, and she felt herself flush from head to foot. Smirking, he muttered, "Should you expect anything less, my love?" She grinned impishly at him, tapping the tip of his nose with her finger as she replied, “Of course not, my dear.” He reached out and ran his fingers along her smooth porcelain skin, and she shivered, relishing the touch. When she suddenly proclaimed that she was no hypocrite, the silver pools on Sirius Black's face twisted with furious anger. "BUT YOU ARE, KACIE! Damn it! You are as stubborn as I am! Can't you realize that is why we always argue?" “You're not understanding me!” She replied in agitation, “I know I'm not perfect! I accept that, Sirius. That does not make me a hypocrite. I only told you how you are because you wanted to know, not because I believe that I'm not the same way. Don't you dare call me a hypocrite for stating the obvious about the both of us.” He glared at her when she spoke of him as childish, but it was to be expected. She knew that Sirius hated any statement referting to him in a way that caused a blow to his ego. His next words struck her like a whip: "At least I am not selfish." Clenching her teeth in order to stop herself from saying something she knew she would regret, she turned her gaze away from him, biting her lower lip in order to distract from the pain his words had caused. Taking a deep breath, she looked him in the eyes once more, cursing herself for not concealing her emotions as effectively as she was once able to. “I won't deny that,” she replied, though her voice came close to cracking at the last word, “I am very selfish. But I would never change that about myself. If I wasn't selfish, my father would still be alive, and Thomas would have died much sooner. I wouldn't have even bothered with you if I were selfless, and maybe I would have been able to keep the Slytherin facade for a bit longer. So yes, Sirius, I am selfish. But at least I'm selfish for the right reasons.” Her words were cold, formal, and very blunt. Her eyes stung, yet she refused to allow another tear to escape in front of this man. She had learned many years ago that tears and secrets shared were signs of weakness, and he had just proven that fact to her. Blinking rapidly, Sirius moved his hands down behind her back, soothing the sudden lick of pain, and pushed himself against her so that she didn't have to feel the pain. He sighed loudly after she spoke. "And it doesn't give you the right to throw what you think are my faults in my face constantly. I KNOW DAMN WELL WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME! CAN'T YOU SEE THAT'S WHY I HATE MYSELF SO MUCH? MY FAULTS ARE WHAT ARE KEEPING REGULUS AWAY FROM ME!" He took a deep breath, looking regretful of what he had just said. Frowning, Kacie rested her forehead against Sirius', and she ran one of her hands through his hair softly in an attempt to sooth him. “I'm sorry,” she apologized, “I shouldn't have said anything. And you have no reason to hate yourself, Sirius. Regulus may be scared, but the door does swing both ways. Believe me, I've told him so myself a few times. It's not your fault.” "I don't know how," he whispered solemnly, resting his forehead against hers. She didn't comment on the tears she saw in his eyes, instead replying, “Then we can learn how together.” He simply smirked when she said not to compare this to Lily and James. He nodded, yet he still refused to say anything, confusion evident in his gaze. However, he frowned at her last statement. "But, he shouldn't be around them. He should have known that I would never talk to him with those damned Slytherthings around." His voice was riddled with disgust, but he looked to be trying to keep his temper in check. Repressing a sigh, she decided against informing him of his brother's one attempt. It hadn't been long after Sirius had run away, and the boy had tried to speak to his brother alone, but found it harder than he thought it was worth, considering the company that constantly surrounded Sirius during that time. "He defended you?" Kacie nodded, “As much as he could, without drawing unwanted attention to himself,” she said, “His exact words, I believe, were 'Leave her alone before you stain the carpet'.” She smirked, hoping that he understood that Regulus had only been saying what would get through to the Slytherins. She had actually gotten along with the boy for awhile, to the point where she hoped that her influence in his life would help him choose the right path before it was too late. He had saved her life that night, with that one sentence anyone else would find insulting beyond measure. The ivory wolf grinned at the black dog's smile. She let out a yip as she sped up, a silent, playful taunt. If she were human, she would have smirked in satisfaction at Sirius' irritated barks. She slowed down some, allowing him to catch up. As he reached her side, he was snorting with laughter. With a mental smirk, she stopped in her tracks, watching the dog before her in amusement.
As Sirius softly fluttered his lashes at her, and she smirked in amusement and flirtation. He moved closer to her, keeping his gaze on her strong as he took her hand in his and twirled her around before catching her in his arms, causing her to chuckle in delight. With his most velvet tone, he murmured, "How about we go somewhere more---" He paused for a moment, moving his lips to her ear, and she resisted the urge to shudder as goosebumps rose on her arms at his sudden proximity. "Private?" His voice was a purr, full of passion and desire. She swallowed, unsure as to whether he was really kidding this time or not. She knew that she loved him, knew that she was ready, but was he? Deciding to give him the ultimate choice, she pressed her lips to his in a searing kiss. He clenched his jaw at her question and shook his head very slightly, and she resisted the urge to tell him anyway. It was a burden to know such a thing, and, as much as she wanted to ease her shoulders the weight of that knowledge, she did not want to relinquish it to him. He had already been through enough in his life without her saying things to make it worse. He looked at her suddenly, terror the dominant emotion in his eyes. He reached out and touched her face, tracing her skin with his fingertips. Confused, she asked, “You alright, love?” He wiped away the tear and gave her a tender smile, yet said nothing. He didn't need to. His presence alone was enough. She felt him move closer and wrap his arms around her from behind, giving her a kiss on the cheek. "I'm sorry, love, I was just trying to prove a point. I didn't mean to hurt you like that." Hating herself for being so touchy over a word, but he didn't know how hard it was. Being in Slytherin house, having to hide her true heritage while biting her tongue when they insulted Muggle-borns at the same time took it's toll on her. She didn't want to have to hear it anymore than she'd already had to, didn't want to have to hear someone as important to her as Sirius to speak it, even in disdain. Relaxing in his arms, she closed her eyes, and forced herself to forget it. It would do no good to cling to something as petty as an insult. Guffawing loudly, Sirius stared at her with an insurmountable joy. "I'm not cut out to be a father, Kacie. I think I'll stick with playing with James's and Lily's kids. And maybe even Remus's, if he has the nerve to talk to a female." Kacie smiled fondly at him in response. Despite his protests, she really did think that he would make an excellent father one day. The loyalty he held towards his friends, and the gentleness he portrayed in her most vulnerable moments had proven that. Sirius chuckled when she pointed out the star he had probably been named after. Smirking, he muttered, "My parents probably named me that because they think we belong in the stars!" He guffawed loudly. She smiled. “Yes, that may be true, but it's not the way I see it.” She replied. He looked back at her when he saw her turn her head. They stared at each other for an unmeasurable amount of time, and, for the first time in awhile, she felt utterly content. Relaxed. At home.
Sirius raised an eyebrow at her words. Frowning, he whispered, "How could you be so hopeful for a pureblood maniac like Berkeley? Her family is very proper, Kacie. I doubt they would let her change. If they are just like my parents, they would give up on her, too. How could you be so sure that she wouldn't do the same things she's been doing?" Knowing that he would most likely be unhappy with what she was about to say, she sighed. “Despite the situation she's been in, she's the closest thing to an aquaintence I've met in Slytherin. I think that, with the right person there to guide her, to help her, she can branch away from that lifestyle. I wish you wouldn't give up hope on her so easily.” Sirius nodded at her words and then captured her face in his hands. "No one is going to kill you, Kacie. I shall protect you from this day forth. Not one day will you spend away from me. And if that day comes and one of us . . . dies---we shall avenge the other until we too have died." Feeling her eyes sting at the thought of losing him, she nodded in response, not trusting herself to speak. They both knew what grief could do to them. Kacie would likely go insane with sorrow at the loss of Sirius, taking down anyone and anything that stood in her path to retribution on the way. He pressed his lips to hers hungrily, as if trying to explain something crucial to her. She kissed him back just as passionately, conveying just how much she loved him in that one moment. "Either way, we'll always be together. No matter what happens to one of us, the other will always be them. I shall never love any other woman, Kacie. You are my one true love. Nothing can change that." Chuckling, she whispered, “How is it that you say the most charming things in situations like this, when I can barely form a coherent sentence when you're around?” He flashed her a handsome smile, kissing her mouth once more. Sighing, he pulled her to him, and she took this opportunity to press a kiss to his jaw, whispering, “No one else will ever be as important to me as you are, Sirius. I can't imagine a life with anyone else.” He tightened his grip on her when she spoke her last words. "You know that I would have stayed there forever with you, right?" With a sad smile, she agreed. “Yeah, I do. I only wish I had been in the right frame of mind to remember it then.” He kissed the top of her head, holding her close. Grabbing her face, he ran his fingers through her hair and then pressed his lips to hers once more, not breaking the embrace. Her hands instinctively wound themselves in his hair, tugging, pulling him closer. As he smiled against her mouth, she could not stop her own smirk from making an appearance. Her stomach fluttered in hesitation and anticipation, a flurry of emotions flashing through her mind. When her legs wrapped around his waist, he moved his hands to her bottom, holding her so that she didn't have to worry about falling, and her smirk against his mouth as they kissed grew to a full-blown grin. She hid her face in his neck, nuzzling him there and nipping at the skin as she hid both her smile and her blush. Then, breaking off the kiss for a fragment of a second, he smiled.
"Do you want me?"
Without hesitation, she moved her mouth to his ear, and murmured, “More than you know.”

Sirius could feel her eyes on him and for the first time since he had known her, he felt uncomfortable. She was the only female that could see past his mask, could reach in and pull him out of his arrogance and hard exterior. He turned his head to look at her, silver meeting emeralds quite unrelentingly. He smiled at her beauty. The fullness of her lips, the dimples when she grinned, the point of her nose, the fight in her eyes. It was a defiance and strength that he was jealous of her about, but he knew that somehow, she needed that kind of power more than he. He chuckled at her little noise of surprise. He found it increasingly amusing. His heart pounded in his head at her laughter. He could barely stand it, the way her lips curled in that beautiful way, making him tremble without her even realizing it. Her giggle resounded through his ears and he wished for her to never stop making such a delicate noise. He would never forget her harmonious laughter, the sound of an Angel's song, ringing through his ears with tenderness. And, she was his, completely. Sirius breathed in her scent when she leaned closer to him and he nearly suffocated in his desire for her in that moment. Allowing a moan to escape when her lips made contact with his jaw, he held her tighter to him, eager for more. When she stared into his eyes, he smiled wider than he thought possible and whispered, "How is it that I didn't know you until this year? I feel as if I've missed out on a lifetime I could have spent with you if only I'd known you sooner."
Guffawing loudly at her tapping him on the nose, Sirius widened his eyes slightly before a mischievous smirk curled the left corner of his mouth upwards. When she shivered, Sirius felt a surge of power overcome him. He felt as if he had won her, in a way, as if she were a human trophy that he could place upon his shelf and keep forever, dusting it off occasionally and admiring it constantly. But, he would not disgrace her with such a thought. She was much more than that, more than he could realize. He didn't even know where to begin when he looked at her. Despite the fact that he was aware of everyone having flaws, he thought she was perfect. Even though he became angry with her at times, he knew that she was a better person for cooling him down, for no one else seemed to have that effect on him. James couldn't even do that. But, Kacie's touch cooled his temper at the moment her skin made contact with his. Sighing loudly when she claimed that he was misunderstanding her, he gazed at her, waiting for an explanation. He shook his head, moving to hold hers, one hand cupping each side of her face gently. "No, no, you are perfect. I---I'm sorry. I'm such an ass." He flashed her a grin for he was called this quite frequently, some times by Remus. But, he knew that it was relevant for the most part. He could be so idiotic and childish. He didn't listen to others when he was beyond furious, but he just couldn't help it! He regretted it the moment he said it. The expression on her face after he had spoken such hurtful words was enough to kill him in that moment. He had suffered her an enormous disgrace by saying such a thing. She deserved kinder words, especially for all of the things she had done for him. He couldn't see her eyes and he mentally punched himself for saying such a horrible statement to her. When those emeralds finally zipped up to his, Sirius's breath caught in his throat. The pain he had caused her with that simple sentence tore at his very soul. His jaw clenched when he heard the slight alteration in her voice at her last word. He nodded rigidly when she stopped, for he could not form the words to reply to her. He figured that staying silent would be for the best. Merlin knows he'd rammed his foot in his mouth many times tonight already. Sirius was beginning to hate himself more and more for revealing his deepest secrets to Kacie. He had not even told James of his regrets with Regulus, at least not to this extent. The coolness of her skin against his was relaxing, giving his heart a reason to slow it pace and his brain to calm its nerves. He listened to her but without hesitation at her last words, he replied, "It is my fault. Why do you think that he's such a coward? Because I wasn't around enough to show him how to be courageous. His path towards the Death Eaters is my burden to bear. If I'd only taken him with me . . . offered . . . Maybe things would have turned out differently. Maybe I would still have a brother that wasn't completely unrecognizable every time I see him." He looked away from her oceanic emeralds, scared that she would laugh at him or something of the sort. His silvery orbs flashed back to hers when she spoke again and his face seemed to ask one unsure question: Really? He snorted at her speaking of Regulus. Of course he didn't want to put himself into any danger, even those her life was worth far more than his. Bloody coward. He shook his head. If he had been around to hear his brother say that, he would have stained the carpet with his blood. Sirius knew that his family was one of the most renowned in the entire Wizarding World. Regulus was not disgusting filth yet, so it was only natural that the other Slytherins would listen to him. He simply sighed, choosing not to reply. The black dog whined pitifully when the wolf sped up, his eagerness to win nearly overtaking him. When he finally caught up with her, he managed a playful nip upon her neck, as a kiss of sorts. He stopped a few paces ahead when he noticed she was no longer by his side. His shaggy head turned back to face her and he stepped slowly closer, his paws making no sound on the grassy lawn. Then, without warning, he jumped, tackling her with force, but making sure to stay gentle. He nuzzled his face into her neck, breathing in her scent. Even as a wolf, she smiled as good as a clean girl would. How typical.
As he held her, Sirius saw the goosebumps appear on her arm. It made him smirk as he continued to attempt and woo her. When she simply swallowed at his question, he felt another surge of triumph flutter through him. He was an Alpha-male, to be honest. When women felt the need to swoon before him, his ego grew. What normal male wouldn't like that feeling? When she kissed him, he felt all of her desire in that embrace and he was eager for more. But, they couldn't just stay out here. That would be embarrassing. He continued to press his body against hers as he decided on a place for them to go that wouldn't be so public. Sirius was very thankful that she did not present to him the gift of such horrible knowledge. He was unsure if he would be able to take such a thing and remain calm. You alright, love? He barely heard her. He was making sure that she was real. If he had been fooled all these months, had been feeding his mind with an imaginary Angel, he was going to find out now. But, she felt real. He could sense her heart beating beneath his finger tips, the warmth of her skin flooding across his own. He couldn't lose her. It simply wasn't an option. Sirius figured that saying such a horrible insult to the girl was not the best action in the world, but he hadn't meant it in the way she took it. He was playing the role of a pureblood when he said it, portraying to her what they thought. When she relaxed, Sirius breathed out as well. He couldn't help but grin back when she smiled that radiant beam at him. He stared over at her when she didn't tell him anything about her opinion after he said his bit. "How do you see it, darling?" He purred the last word, a smirk curling over his lips, beautifully enriching his face with mischief. Sirius couldn't help but feel home when he stared at her. He had never felt this way about anyone before, and she was the most beautiful woman he had ever met, both inside and out. He didn't want anyone else.
Listening closely to Kacie's words when she spoke of Berkeley, Sirius felt like spitting. He shook his head softly, his mind reeling. "She can't be seen with anyone that's not in Slytherin or Ravenclaw, so that narrows it down a bit, doesn't it? She might be one full of potential for good, but there is a difference in potential and action, Kacie. She is a coward. She won't go out of her way to do what's right. She's just like Narcissa." He hadn't seen the blonde around lately, now that he thought about it, but he assumed she was in the library. He could ask Remus about if he actually cared to remember. When her eyes stung, Sirius pressed his lips to hers once more, eager for her closer to him. He could feel the love pouring from her very soul as they embraced, and he knew that in that moment, he needed her the closest she could ever be. He smirked at her question, then rested his forehead to hers. Softly, he murmured, "I suppose it's just because of my irresistible attractiveness that no woman can deny." He smirked at her. When she kissed his jaw and spoke the words that sent his heart into a thumping maelstrom of wild beating, he smiled and replied, "You are the only woman I will ever need and want, Kacie. I cannot imagine loving anyone else as much as I love you." His lips found hers once more, and his grip around her tightened. He nodded at her in simple acquiescence and then ran his hands along her back, making sure she knew that he had already forgiven her. He didn't want her to forget that. At her tug of his hair, he moaned into her mouth, biting her bottom lip so as to gain more access. When her lips moved to his neck, he squeezed her bottom softly, the desire in his chest flooding his entire body. At her whisper, Sirius fought the temptation to take her then and cleared his throat with a lot of effort.
"Well, let's go." He hoped she had a suggestion. He was too enthralled with her to think straight at the moment. [/size]
