( NICKNAMES ) : Mars, Mar, and other shortenings of her already brief first name. She doesn’t mind her name, until you start to bring out the famous Mary’s/MacDonald’s of the past and present. She’s like others to know she doesn’t own any sheep or attend to a garden of flowers, nor is she Queen of Scots or mother of Jesus. She’s not an old farmer nor is she fond of the McDonald’s fast food restaurant (seriously, that’s a Mc, not Mac!).
( SEX ) : female
( BLOOD TYPE ) : the only thing know for certain about Mary’s blood type was that it was O-. Her father is unknown to all, and her mother’s a Muggle-born Witch so Mary just considers herself a Muggle-born.
( AGE & DOB ) : 17, February 29th
( YEAR ) : 7th
( HOUSE ) : Gryffindor!
( AFFILIATION ) : Order Member
( SEXUAL ORIENTATION ) : Hetersexual

( RIDDIKULUS! ) :
Rats, Mary's was deathly afraid of rats.
( EXPECTO PATRONUM! ) :
Mary's best memory, thus far, would be the day one summer when her mother asked about how Hogwarts was going and actually took an interest in the magical school. They had a real conversations about the good and bad times they both have had at Hogwarts and it's the closet they've ever been.
( DEMENTOR'S KISS ) :
Mary’s worst memory would have to be the day she recieved her Hogwarts' letter and listened to her mother drunkenly shouting her disapproval about Mary's abilities and how much there was to fear and hate about the Magical world.
( MIRROR OF ERISED ) :
Mary’s deepest desire, like many, were family orientated. First of all, her mother stood beside her, a wand in one hand and her other hand on Mary’s shoulder. The next thing was her little brother Nate smiling widely up at her wearing Hogwarts robes and holding a wand. The last noted thing would be two other strange men in the mirror, one with an arm around Mary’s mother’s shoulders, the other with his arm around Mary’s waist.
( PET PEEVES ) :
+ Hypocrites
+ Cats
+ Sluts
( KEYWORDS ) :
first impressions – First impressions never went well when Mary was involved. Usually Mary got the wrong impression of others, or they got the wrong impression of her.
passionate – One thing that people could count on Mary for was her auspicious and generally optimistic attitude. Mary took the greatest pleasures in whatever she could. She did her best to push back any upsetting feelings, which builds up into her having private emotional breakdowns in an empty corridor or the comfort of her dorm infrequently.
tempered – Even though she kept her sad feelings tucked away, she didn’t keep control over her temper. If you were looking for a good fight, she was easy to provoke. Although Mary wasn’t a dainty poppet to be thrown across the room when angry, she wasn’t exactly as solid and strong as a tree. Having never been instructed too much in the art of duelling with wands, Mary attempted to keep her fights to those of insults and words, but she’d do her best to get a good hex in if it came to it.
stubborn – Once she set her mind to it, she didn’t give up on anything too easily. The negative side, was called stubbornness, the positive was persistence. It was that persistence that kept her on track, but it was the stubbornness that equally as often got her into trouble by not realizing when enough is enough.
courageous – It was that bold courageousness that signified her as a Gryffindor. She didn’t have a problem with being the first to do something, or to make a fool of herself in a difficult task (she did it often enough anyways). She wasn’t known to shy away from a challenge, turn down a dare or do something stupid/reckless.

( HAIR ) : Mary’s hair was something that usually regulated to her mood. Often when she wasn’t in the most pleasurable mood, her hair was shoved into a messy bun or quick naturally curly ponytail. When her mood was happier, she often spent time on her hair taking the time to charm her locks into large bouncy curls, or charming it stick straight to that matter. She liked to experiment sometimes with her hair which often didn’t result in the most flattering looks. She’s been known to try using headbands, which usual turns out for the first half of the day but by the end of it, her head would be having problems keeping the material wrapped around her hair.
( EYES ) : Her eyes were actually a brown color in which she was told reminded people of a few things, but mainly the obvious, chocolate. The belief that eyes are a window to a person’s soul was something that applied to Mary as well. Although it wasn’t always distinguishable at first, people who knew Mary could just tell when something was up with her. Either something mischievous, mad or sad practically screamed a secret code though her eyes to people she knew well.
( FACIAL STRUCTURE ) : The muggle cover up describes Mary’s skin as an ivory white, or so that what her skin matched up to. Besides a bit of cover up every once in a while, Mary generally only work a bit of neutral eye shadows and mascara for makeup. Her features were well proportioned with an averaged sized nose, a few freckles in the summer and high cheekbones. Sometimes her lips were a bit chapped from chewing on her bottom lip when thinking or stressed.
( BODY STRUCTURE ) : Her body was an average pear shape, standing at a 5’5”. Mary had never had to problem of being called too skinny or fat, but like many typical teenage girls she often felt a need to be stick skinny, but usually she shoved that to the back of her mind at the first chance possible. The last time she checked, she was 115lbs, but scales were removed from Hogwarts last year after the anorexia incident with the Hufflepuff 6th year.
( ATTIRE ) : Mary's clothing style was typical of a teenage female Hogwarts student. The Gryffindor robes were usually accompanied by matching earrings/barrettes/headbands or some other accessory Mary could find to be unique without going overboard. On weekends and after school hours, she was known to wear jeans and a tee, and on the rare occasion during the summer, even a dress. Mary's style of dressing was quite a bit modest with higher necklines then what most girls in her school wore. She just didn’t feel comfortable with exposing herself as much as others did. That’s not to say that she dressed like a nun though, for Mary’s was known to wear a shorter than school acceptable skirts(which really wasn’t saying much), or tops that revealed her shoulders and a good portion of her back, but not often.
( SUMMARY ) : Generally? Mary was an average teenager who valued the balance of taking care of her appearance and not caring for her appearance. Overall, she was a simplistic girl, and perhaps the right guy might find that beautiful about her.
( PLAY-BY ) : Emmy Rossum

( HISTORY ) :
Sophia MacDonald was an ex-Hufflepuff Muggle-born Witch who renounced magic after being on the receiving end of dark magic two years post her Hogwarts education. Nine months after a night of drunken escapades, Mary was born on February 29th, father unknown. The first few years of Mary’s life she grew up in a small town in Scotland – Foyers. Mary demonstrated signs of magic at early ages, which often infuriated Mary’s mother. Sophia didn’t want herself, or her daughter to enter into the dancers of the wizarding world especially in this age, for Muggleborns were as much hated by the Death Eaters and their leader as Muggles themselves were, but it was easier to track down and pinpoint Muggleborns.
Sophia fell in love to a French fellow named Jean-Marc. Jean-Marc was a gentleman in Mary’s opinion, and she had a surrogate father and a feeling of a whole family for a whole two consecutive years. A marriage later and they were all living in Jean-Marc’s hometown, the heart of France - Paris. Once again Sophia fell pregnant and gave birth to Mary’s half-brother Nate. Exactly three months after Nate’s birth, Jean-Marc was found murdered. Apparently the innocent bystander of a drive by shooting. Mary was nine.
The three of them moved back to Foyers the summer after, and Sophia ended up taking back her job of owner/manager of a Cafe. Mary’s bursts of uncontrolled magic seemed to increase more and more as she cam closer to her 11th birthday, and Sophia’s drinking seemed to increase more and more as well. The summer after her 11th birthday, it was no surprise to Sophia that her daughter received her Hogwart’s letter. Regardless, it didn’t stop the mother from drinking herself into screaming about everything wrong with the wizarding world and pointing out all the scares and negatives of magic. Mary had never been so upset, scared and confused in her life.
Regardless, Sophia sent her daughter to Hogwarts come fall, and as a little 11-year-old Mary was scared as hell. It didn’t help that in search of a compartment to spend the train ride with she ended up asking a pureblood fanatic if she could sit with him and his group. Needless to say Mary had a rather unpleasant experience after admitting she didn’t quite understand what a pureblood exactly was. Fortunately, after making friends with other on the train and being sorted into Gryffindor, Mary’s perception started to change about magic and she relaxed. That was until she drank the pumpkin juice and just about died right there in the hall because of an allergic reaction. She spent the better part of her first week of Hogwarts in the hospital wing, swollen, sore and scared.
Once she started going to classes, she started to like being a Witch. She discovered History of Magic was the most boring class dreamt up, DADA was hard, Charms came naturally to her and flying lessons were a blast. Mary had trouble adapting to the wizarding world at first, they dressed differently, talked differently and even had their own special sport – Quiddich, in which Mary joined her 2nd year in Hogwarts as a chaser. Despite being disadvantaged and having a rather bad beginning time at Hogwarts, it didn’t take long for Mary to fit into the school and especially her house.
Most of her school years flew by without incident. The odd detention here and there, a mishap or two, a pinch of over exuberant friends, a bit of teenage drama and a dash of non-serious relationships and you’ve summed up Mary’s experiences, that is until her 5th year. An incident with Mulciber using the Dark Arts against her didn’t do anything but increase her hatred of the Slytherin house and increase in her passion for the fight against evil.
The summers back at home were never pleasant, which only help to increase Mary’s love of Hogwarts. The relationships with Mary and her mother improved, when Sophia was sober. After seeing her mother’s drunken spells, Mary vowed to stay away from alcohol, a promise she couldn’t keep herself. The end of Mary’s 6th year, she started experimenting with drinking fire whiskey at parties. The summer didn’t give her any opportunities to drink, but Mary wasn’t almost excited to get back into the partying scene. She wrestles her conscious about the morals of herself promising herself to never drink what with a Alcoholic mother back home.

( ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE ) :An old car pulled up slowly to the station as the breaks screeched. Doors creaked open, and heavy bags made a soft thud as they hit the ground carelessly. The trunk of the car made a few loud bangs as the owner failed in trying to get it to latch shut without showing any care. A pair of feet hurried forward and shut the trunk slowly making sure it latched properly. With a huff of annoyance, a pair of heels clicked along the ground annoyingly and the car groaned as they got into it.
"Bye Mu-"but the seventeen-year-old’s words were drowned out by her mother slamming the old car door shut with as the strength she could manage and drove away. With a scream of defeat she hastily grabbed her carry-on bag and lugged her trunk b y the handle behind her. Out of breath from pulling a wheel-less trunk behind her, she made a beeline towards the trolleys. Finally eased from her burden, she headed without delay to platform 9 & 3/4. Without pausing, without hesitation and without another glance, she strode in full stride into the brick divider.
Split seconds later she arrived in the acquainted hustle and bustle of witches and wizards dressed in a variety of outfits. Twirling bright purple and yellow robes caught her eyes only moments before their disappearance and she looked down at her own attire. Wanting to wear her own wizard's robes her mother absolutely forbid it and she had pulled on a pair of jeans and an old red T-Shirt with Witch. printed in big black letters on the front of it despite her mother's disapproving glare. A rather large, zipper-less, dark red, gold trimmed bag hung from her arms carrying her most important and prized items. Her wand, her wizard money, an epi-pen and various of other small items lined the pockets in a bag with her robes crumbled in the middle of it.
Sighing, she pushed and shoved her way to the train, watching with longing as mothers alike fussed over their children, calling them back for one more hug or kiss. She watched as a group of kids tried to pull themselves away from their families eager for the freedom,"If only I was so lucky," she muttered bitterly to herself as she tore her attention away from the family and to getting in a compartment on the Hogwarts Express. As the train lurched forward, she realize she must have been close to missing it.
Hearing familiar voices, she poked her head into the compartment in which she believed it to be coming from. Of course, Mary being Mary, didn’t believe in knocking before entering so of course she slid the door open with no hesitation. A sudden bump from train caused her to lurch forward into the compartment finding herself stumbling into the far wall of the compartment and falling into a seat next to the window and across from James. She laughed as she watched his head clunked against the window and at the same time laughed at herself and entrance into the compartment. She grinned shyly at the group in the compartment before saying, “I guess it’s a little late to be asking now, but there’s room for another in here?”
